We all know that finding the perfect wedding dress can be a daunting and tricky task. Every bridal shop you enter is completely different. Some provide a excellent service, and others simply don't.

Welcome to May's Blog. What another busy month we have had. Between making jewellery, and looking after a curious 7 month baby, its a wonder we have time to write this blog!

Over the past few months we have been designing various pieces that complement the modern brides of 2011 and 2012. Over the past few years we have seen side tiaras growing into the most popular hair piece of 2011, and may even continue into 2012. The dresses this year and quite floral and romantic, so we have designed beautiful hair pieces to suit these dresses. We have also designed a few decorative hair pins, which is a beautiful way for brides to accessorise, without blowing their budget

These pins are an ideal choice for a bride or bridesmaid. Why not wear 2 or 3 for a beautiful clustered look, and have coloured ones made for the bridesmaids, who can simply wear one each! Or have us design a beautiful side tiara for the bride, with mini versions popped onto pins for the bridesmaids! Pins are great for wearing again too, so they wont just be thrown in a drawer, and never used again. They can be worn to many occasions and be worn over and over again.

Well, we have finally gotten round to creating a blog!

After a hectic wedding season 2010, giving birth to my first baby boy, 2010 seemed to pass like a figment of my imagination, but 2011 seems to be the year we are staring to make big changes.

We have designed a new collection based on the flower theme for 2011 head dresses, but are still in the process of adding more to this small collection, as well as some delicate jewellery pieces to compliment these.

As this is our first blog, I thought a good topic, and a very commonly question asked by many brides

"Should I add colour to my jewellery?" Or "Should I add hints of colour to my jewellery?"

Well, this is your choice. Some jewellery designs take colour well, and some don't, its really as simple as that. However, a good thing to remember is that your bouquet will have colour, the bridesmaids will be wearing colour, so as a bride, neutral sometimes always looks best, and don't overload in colour. However, less formal weddings, colour can be added to give a more informal feel for the day, like a few strands of long string beads - particularly good in beach weddings.

Another thing to ask yourself before adding colour - do I want to wear my jewellery again, or will I keep it as a special keepsake of the day? If you want to wear it again, adding colour may limit what you wear your jewellery with, keeping it neutral will allow to have more wearing options.

If you decide to add colour, then sometimes its best to go with all colour rather than sprinklings- necklaces like the Christina in our collection don't take sprinklings of colour well, so its best to go with all colour, where as the Bonni necklace and illusion necklaces takes sprinklings of colours well. Sometimes more random designs you can add colours freely, where as more regimented designs, are more all or nothing type pieces.

Another good option is to add colour to your head dress rather than your jewellery, this can add hints of colour without going OTT, and can make you blend with your bridesmaids well.
